Our framed canvas is a 38mm stretched canvas within a traditional picture frame. The simple addition of a wooden picture frame creates a completely new form of wall art, quite distinct to a standard canvas. The thin frame sits approximately 5mm from the edge of the canvas helping create a floating border. Highly recommended for photography and images that make a real statement. Original is an oil on panel painting of an endangered Siberian Tiger Portrait. This is part of an endangered species collection dedicated to bringing awareness and raise funds for endangered flora and fauna. For each art piece in this collection, 15% of all profit will go toward supporting the International Union for Conservation of Nature Red List ⊙ Siberian Tiger Facts ⊙ ∙ Current Status: Endangered ∙ Current Wild Population: ~480 - 540 ∙ Since the 1930s, 3 of the 9 tiger species have gone extinct ∙ Threats: Poaching, habitat destruction, & habitat fragmentation ∙ World's largest cat ⊙ IUCN Mission Statement ⊙ "The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species is a critical indicator of the health of the world's biodiversity - a Barometer of Life - telling us what we need to know to save wild species. So far, over 116,00 species have been assessed for The IUCN Red List. Our goal is to have assessed 160,000 species by the end of 2020." ⊙ Why IUCN? ⊙ The IUCN Red List is the only charity whose main focus is the gathering & disseminating of information about all life on this planet, in the hopes of prioritizing which plants & animals are in need of our help. Every species is a puzzle piece, which all together, constructs the great puzzle that is life on earth. Unfortunately, we are the only species that can see this greater picture. Therefore, it is our responsibility, armed with the critical data that the IUCNs provides, to preserve, protect, and heal our world.
